The grant will help Elmwood Park Zoo continue its sensory learning programs for blind and nearly blind children.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Elmwood Park Zoo has received a grant that will help it continue its sensory learning programs for blind and nearly blind children.
The $7,200 donation from the newly formed Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Council will support an array of programs specifically designed for these children.
"The children who participate in these programs benefit from developing a sense of accomplishment in navigating the zoo and experiencing the unique sounds and senses that aren't available in textbooks or classrooms," the zoo said in a statement.
