One Arrested, One Wanted In July Murder Of Norristown Teen: DA

Two men have been charged in the July murder of a Norristown teen. One has been arrested, and there is a $1,000 reward for the other: DA.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Authorities have announced charges against two men for the July murder of a Norristown teen, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday. One has been arrested, while a $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the other.

Isiah "Zay" Freeman, 18, of Norristown, is still being sought, while William Durell Wilson, 30, has already been arrested, authorities said. Both face first-degree murder charges and related counts.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 6 at around 6:32 p.m. on the 600 block of Chain Street, according to police.

Jordan Scott, 16, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at Mercy Suburban Hospital at 7:28 p.m., the DA said. Another teenager with Scott was suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle.

An investigation revealed that Wilson was driving a 2013 Dodge Charger while Freeman was in the front passenger seat, police said. They saw the two teenagers walking near Chain and Oak streets and parked around the corner to wait for them. When the two arrived, they opened fire.

It was not made clear by police what led to the shooting or why the men were targeting the teens.

A preliminary hearing for Wilson has been set for Sept. 7. No bail is offered for first-degree murder charges, and he was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
