'Persistent' Coastal Storm To Bring Several Days Of Rain To Philly Area

The storm has lingered offshore for days but will bring prolonged chances for rainfall when it arrives, according to forecasters.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Several days of rain are possible heading into the weekend in the greater Philadelphia area, as a storm off the coast is likely to make itself felt in some way, according to forecasters.

The National Weather Service says a "persistent coastal storm" has lingered just offshore for days, and while it is likely to weaken before it makes landfall in the local area, it will be the driver behind some wet weather.

The storm still has some variability, and for much of the storm, rainfall chances hover around 60 percent, forecasters said.
