Days Of Thunderstorms, Rain To Hit Philly Area This Weekend

Several chances for thunder are in the forecast this weekend as the region braces itself for stormy weather. Details:

SOUTHEASTERN PA — Another bout of rain and thunderstorms is headed for the greater Philadelphia region, potentially providing relief from the abnormally dry conditions that have plunged portions of both New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the midst of a drought.

There's a chance of thunderstorms and rain on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the best chance coming on Friday and Friday night, forecasters said.

"It will be more humid all three days, with at least some chances for some showers and thunderstorms," the National Weather Service's Mt. Holly Station shared.

Storms are likely to hit after 2 p.m. Friday, with up to a tenth of an inch of rain falling, according to forecasters. More storms will continue up through around 8 p.m.

There's a slighter chance for storms in the late morning and early afternoon Saturday, as well as later Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
