Powerful 2-Day Rainstorm To Hit Philly Area For Mother's Day Weekend: Forecasters
Several inches of rain could hammer the greater Philadelphia region over Mother's Day weekend, forecasters say.
EASTERN PA — Heavy rain is expected to sweep across much of the region over Mother’s Day weekend, potentially leaving several inches of rain in the greater Philadelphia area, forecasters said.
The deluge, which is expected to arrive on Friday, will impact much of the eastern seaboard, with the band of strongest storms running in a sharp line from Chicago to the Jersey Shore, AccuWeather reports.
Some coastal flooding is possible along the Delaware River, the National Weather Service warns.

The storm will bring some chillier than normal temperatures into the region on Saturday night, with the low dropping to around 45, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service calls the front a "slow moving storm system" that "will bring a raw east wind & rain to the region starting on Friday, continuing through Saturday, finally ending on Mother's Day."

Up to a half of inch of rain on Friday, an inch on Friday night, three quarters of an inch on Saturday, and a quarter inch on Saturday night is possible, forecasters said. Showers are expected to continue in Sunday.
