EASTERN PA — Updated rain totals and flood risks have been released by forecasters as the greater Philadelphia region braces for a multi-day weather event over Mother's Day weekend.
Up to three inches of rain is now expected in the region, with heavy rain anticipated throughout the Friday and Friday night into Saturday. according to the National Weather Service.
Coastal flooding is possible all along the Delaware River and its immediate tributaries in the region, with the weather service issuing a "minor" to a "moderate" risk.

The flooding risk could linger into early next week, according to forecasters. "Widespread minor coastal flooding is forecast around the times of high tide from Saturday night through Sunday night," the National Weather Service said.
In areas where rain is intense, other localized flooding could also impact the area.

Wind gusts could also reach the upper 30s in southeastern Pennsylvania. "Tree damage and power outages are possible," the National Weather Service said.
