Philly Area Snow Estimates Released Ahead Of Super Bowl Weekend

Snow, slush, and icy road conditions are possible Super Bowl Sunday into Valentine's Day, forecasters say. Here's the latest:

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A minor snowstorm could bring plummeting temperatures and some snow to parts of the greater Philadelphia area just in time for Sunday’s big game.

The National Weather Service released updated snow estimates Friday morning, with less than an inch of snow is predicted to accumulate in the five-county area.

Sunday may likely see temperatures in the 20s with snowfall starting in the early morning.

Monday’s forecast remains chilly, with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens. It’s a quick freeze that will cause untreated slushy and wet surfaces to freeze, according to AccuWeather.

“Whether a location picks up a coating of snow with wet roads or a few inches of snow and slush, icy conditions are likely to develop Sunday night and last into the Monday morning commute,” the service said.
