Thunderstorms, Flooding, Heavy Downpour Forecasted In Philly Region
Flooding is possible throughout the region as heavy rainfall and thunderstorms return Wednesday and Thursday.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — Another round of powerful storms is possible in the greater Philadelphia area over the coming days, the National Weather Service has announced.
Wednesday's sprightly summer sunshine will fade as the afternoon progresses, with showers possible in the afternoon and early evening, and widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms expcted from 6 p.m. to midnight, forecasters said.
Up to three quarters of an inch of rain could fall during Wednesday's downpour, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast indicates rain and thunderstorms could intermittently continue into early Thursday, with up to another half an inch of rain and wind gusts reaching 30 miles per hour.
The rainfall could lead to flooding, and a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the region.

"Several instances of flooding are possible, especially in urban and poor-drainage areas and near vulnerable small creeks and streams," the National Weather Service said.
Things look to clear up again by Thursday night, with a clear and beautiful 81-degree Friday on tap.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 68. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming east in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 79. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Mostly clear, with a low around 61. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. West wind around 5 mph.
