Thunderstorms, Then Overnight Freeze Possible In Eastern PA
A blast of frigid winter air will come on the tail of the latest thunderstorms to hit the region, forecasters said.
EASTERN PA — Some colder temperatures are on the way to the greater Philadelphia area, bringing with it rain and potentially thunderstorms, according to forecasters. That could be followed by temperatures approaching freezing overnight.
Drizzle and rain is possible throughout the region after 4 p.m., with up to a quarter of an inch of rain falling, the National Weather Service said. Thunderstorms are possible from the afternoon through around 9 p.m., forecasters said, but no major flooding or storm damage is expected. "It won't be a washout," the agency added.
A blast of winter air, one of the chilliest of the year so far, will bring with it snow to some parts of the region.

"A major snow event is not anticipated by any means across the interior Northeast, but this will serve as a reminder that winter is not too far off," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham.
Temperatures will drop to the upper to mid-30s overnight for parts of the suburbs, and could dip below freezing in the Poconos.
