Ice Storm, Freezing Rain In Philly Area: Timeline On Impacts
Forecasters are warning of dangerous roads Friday as a result of a lingering winter storm. Here's the latest.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — A winter weather advisory has been issued for southeastern Pennsylvania as the region braces for its next winter storm, with a lengthy period snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected to impact the area from Thursday afternoon through much of Friday.
While snow accumulations are still likely to be limited in the immediate suburbs, forecasters are calling for ice accumulation that could cause tree damage, power outages, and dangerous roads.
"Ice amounts of one tenth to one quarter of an inch will lead to icy untreated roads," forecasters said in their latest briefing Thursday morning.
