Painting On Japanese Rice Paper In Norristown
A unique workshop is coming to the borough.

A unique art workshop is coming to Norristown, the Norristown Art League announced on Monday.
The workshop with Jim McFarlane, the former president of the American Watercolor Society, will engage students with painting on Japanese Rice Paper.
The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on October 3, the art league said.

The press release from the league states the following:
Explore the possibilities this special technique offers to the watercolor artist. Jim’s focus for this workshop will be the landscape. However, you may work from an “old” painting that didn’t quite please you and see how this technique changes the total look of the piece, or work with a totally new subject. If you wish to work with a still-life bring your own items. If you wish to work from landscape photos, please bring at least 20. No magazine photos, please.
