PHILADELPHIA, PA — Phillies superstar first baseman Bryce Harper is continuing to grow his family.

Harper and his wife Kayla announced Tuesday that their third baby is now on the way.

They announced the news in an social media post which the two-time MVP captioned simply: "3 for 3." In a series of two photos in the post, Harper is standing with his wife at the beach, and his other two children are holding up Kayla's sonogram.

Both of Harper's children, Krew and Brooklyn, were born after his family arrived in Philadelphia. When he decided to sign with the Phillies, he took pains to design a contract that would keep him in the region for the bulk of his career, in part because he wanted to make one home for his family.

"The goal was to get the longest contract possible," Harper's agent Scott Boras told the New York Post back in 2019. "Bryce wanted one city for the rest of his career. That is what I was instructed to do. It is very difficult in this time to get length of contract that takes a player to age 37, 38, 39."

Recent rumors indicate Harper would like an extension on his original 13 year deal, which already has him here through 2031, to ensure he plays into his 40s.

Harper's tenure in Philadelphia has been nothing short of a resounding success, winning an MVP award in 2021 and leading the Phils to two consecutive National League Championship Series, including a pennant and World Series berth in 2022.

The Harpers did not announce a due date for baby number three.

Opening Day is Thursday at 3:05 p.m. in south Philadelphia.
