Phillies clobber Rays 9-4 after a six-run second inning

Phils go to (8-5) and have won five in a row and seven of their last eight games. Rays (3-11) have lost four of their last six games

A 6-0 lead after a six-run second inning helped the Philadelphia Phillies (8-5) knock off the Tampa Bay Rays (3-11) 9-4 Saturday at Tropicana Field, home-field for the Rays.

For the Phillies, it was their seventh win in their last eight games and their fifth consecutive win. For the Rays, it was their third loss in a row and fourth in their last six games.

Centerfielder Odubal Herrera got three hits in five at bats Saturday to lead the Phillies' offense while Philadelphia's pitcher, Jake Arrieta (1-0) won in just his second start of the young season.
