Phillies drop a 2-1 decision to the Braves in MLB action Monday

Philadelphia's Phillies are now 9-6 on the young season, but have won eight of their last 10 games to make them a relatively hot team. After completing a three-game sweep on the road over Tampa Bay with a 10-4 win on Sunday, the Phils were nipped by the Atlanta Braves 2-1 at Atlanta on Monday.

Phillies centerfielder Odubel Herrera hit a solo homerun in the game for the Phillies lone run 0f the game Monday.

Pitcher Aaron Nola (1-1) went six innings for the Phillies Monday, giving up just the two runs and striking out two batters and walking just one. The Braves scored their runs Monday on just four hits off the Phillies' pitchers.

The Braves and Phillies continue their series Tuesday night with Phillies' pitcher Nick Pivetta (1-0, 2.70 ERA) pitching against Atlanta's Mike Foltnewicz (1-1, 2.93 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. Eastern Time.
