Phillies fall to the Nationals 7-3 in MLB action Friday

Nationals explode to a 7-0 lead early in the game and the Phillies could not recover Friday.

A seven run early deficit is hard to recover from in Major League baseball action. The Philadelphia Phillies found that out on Friday, dropping a road game to the Washington Nationals 7-3.

Philadelphia fell to 17-14 on the young season while Washington improved to 17-16. Atlanta currently leads the National League East with a 19-12 record.

After falling behind 7-0 early, the Phillies got all their runs in the sixth inning Friday with Carlos Santana hitting a two-run homer and then Maikel Franco connecting on a solo shot to account for all of the Phillies' scoring.
