Philly Be The Match 5k Run Set for April 8

The Be the Match 5k Run and Walk will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m.

The USATF certified course will wind through the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

According to organizers, "Be The Match is the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on saving lives through marrow and umbilical cord blood transplantation. We foster a community of donors, volunteers, health care professionals and researchers who deliver cures by helping patients get the life-saving marrow or cord blood transplant they need. Our passion to save lives drives us to help more patients survive each year."

Participants can run or walk, and have the option of entering as a team.

There will also be a 'Tot Trot' for young runners and walkers. All Tot Trot participants will receive a special Tot Trot give-away.
