Philly Physician Gave Heroin, Cocaine To Woman In Montco Hotel: DA

DA: The Philadelphia anesthesiologist medically inserted intravenous ports into different parts of her body to help administer the drugs.

NORRISTOWN, PA – A Philadelphia physician has been charged with providing heroin and cocaine to a woman in hotel rooms in King of Prussia, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Anesthesiologist Sean Graham Fogler met the woman in February 2014 via a website called seekingarrangement.com, the DA said.

He allegedly rented rooms at the Motel 6 in King of Prussia and delivered the drugs to the woman there, officials said.

Their relationship continued until June 2015, during which time Fogler provided her and her friends with fentanyl, MDMA, Xanax, Propofol, and Percocet, in addition to the heroin and cocaine, according to the DA.

To help the drugs enter her system, the physician allegedly insert intravenous ports in different parts of her body, the DA said.

In addition to the motel in King of Prussia, Fogler also provided her with drugs in Norristown and in an apartment which he rented for her, officials said.

“Heroin, opioids and other narcotics are powerfully addicting,” said DA Kevin Steele. “A physician becoming part of this growing epidemic is not only illegal, it’s unconscionable. While the vast majority of physicians are ethically practicing medicine and abiding by the Hippocratic Oath, the defendant was destroying a young woman by facilitating the use of illegal drugs, obtaining them for her and administering medical procedures without any medical necessity.”

A preliminary hearing for Fogler has been set for August 2.
