POLL: Should Norristown-Area Starbucks Serve Alcohol?

The coffeehouse is applying for a liquor license in cities around the country.

Starbucks is looking to serve alcohol at many of its shops nationwide, and Pennsylvania locations could be next.

The coffeehouse currently serves alcohol at 70 of its locations around the United States, according to CNN Money, and says that it is applying for permits to serve in more shops.

The “Starbucks Evenings” menu looks to bring more customers to Starbucks during the evening hours by serving alcoholic beverages. The menu offers wine and craft beer to be paired with Starbucks’ signature coffee and tea beverages. Check out a sample menu here.

A Starbucks representative said the company is in the early stages of considering these Long Island stores for the Evenings menu. “It’s a long and thoughtful process and the permit filing is just one of many steps we take,” the representative told Patch.

The closest Starbucks that currently offers the “Starbucks Evenings” menu is in Manhattan. Other cities where the Evenings menu has taken hold include Denver, Miami, San Francisco, and Orlando.
