Pregnant Mother, Baby, Child From Norristown Killed In NY Crash
A trip from the Philly area to visit Niagara Falls ended in unimaginable tragedy.
WAYLAND, NY — A pregnant mother from Norristown, her baby, and a 12-year-old boy were killed in an crash while driving from southeastern Pennsylvania to Niagara Falls over the weekend, authorities said.
The incident occurred at about 9:18 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-390.
The rear tire of the 2005 Ford E350 van went out, causing the van to slam into the median and flip over several times, New York State Troopers said in a press conference.

There were three families inside of the van, and a total of 13 individuals, NBC10 reported.
One of the victims, Alex Andrade, 12, was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The pregnant mother, Margarita Ramirez-Luna, 40, was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. Police said that the hospital was able to deliver her child, but that the baby died shortly thereafter.

Several other passengers suffered various injuries. Their conditions are not yet clear.
