President Biden Lands In Valley Forge National Park On Marine One

UPPER MERION, PA — President Joe Biden has landed in Valley Forge National Historical Park on his Marine One chopper, officials and multiple eyewitnesses confirmed.

It is the first stop of several for the President ahead of a speech scheduled for 3:15 p.m. at Montgomery County Community College's campus in Blue Bell.

Photos and images from the scene showed the President and First Lady Jill Biden standing with National Park Service rangers at the National Memorial Arch at around 1:30 p.m.

It does not appear that Biden will speak at Valley Forge, as his public campaign event will take place at Blue Bell, about 15 miles away. Rather, his visit is of a private nature.

According to Zach Montague with the New York Times, Biden laid a memorial wreath while at the Arch.

The Arch was built in 1917 to commemorate George Washington and the Contintental Army, who spent a brutal winter in 1777-1778 in the park in the midst of the Revolutionary War.

Biden is the first President to visit Valley Forge since Gerald Ford, who came when Valley Forge was officially designated a National Park in 1976, according to the National Park Service.
