Public's Help Needed In IDing 4 Suspects Wanted In Montco Robbery, Killing: DA

NORRISTOWN, PA — Police are continuing to ask for the public's help in identifying and tracking down the suspects behind a robbery and killing in Norristown earlier this month.

The incident occurred at around 7:49 p.m. on Jan. 20 on the first block of West Wood Street.
William Grover Carter, 35, had been in a nearby house on Powell Street with an acquaintance when he went outside to retrieve something from his vehicle, according to the district attorney's office.

Video surveillance showed that a grey Toyota RAV-4 pulled up and three men got out, with the driver staying in the car, the DA said.

The men grabbed Carter and robbed him, and then one of the suspects shot and killed him, police said.

The RAV-4, which was determined to be stolen from Cheltenham on Dec. 13, was found engulfed in flames at around 3 a.m. on Willow and Roberts streets.
