The Elmwood Park Zoo officially opened their red panda exhibit for the first time on June 6.

Clinger, Slash, and Shredder, all males, are located in an exhibit along the main path across from the Petting Barn.

“Red pandas share the same range as giant pandas,” reads the Elmwood Zoo summary of the species. “They are native to cool temperate bamboo forest regions of China and foothills of the Himalayas.”

They are about 42 inches long and weigh around 14 pounds.

Their conservation status is listed as “vulnerable” by the Zoo, indicating sensitive population levels.
