Royal Farms to Open in Norristown: Report

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Wawa is getting some competition in the region: a new Royal Farms gas station and convenience store is opening up in Norristown, according to a report.

The new store will open up at Norristown Centre on Markley Street, the Times Herald reports. That is a fair distance from the closest Wawa in East Norriton, and Royal Farms says they not looking to cut into Wawa's customer base.

“We are not looking to take on Wawa," Brittany Eldredge, Royal Farms public relations director, told the Times Herald. "We’re different than Wawa. I think both companies can live happily and peacefully while providing customers with the services that they need.”

Royal Farms has already opened several locations in southeastern Pennsyvlania and is considering adding one in Hatfield. Construction on the Norristown Royal Farms could begin in March 2017.
