SKIPPACK, PA — The SCI Phoenix inmate in Montgomery County who authorities said killed his cell mate has been convicted of assaulting a different inmate in a separate case, according to court documents and a media report.

Nathan Blose, 41, was convicted of simple assault, court documents show. Main Line Media News reports that the incident, which occurred just two days before the murder he is accused of, was fully unprovoked.

Blose was also charged with strangulation in relation to the attack but was acquitted of that count. He faces up to a year behind bars for the conviction, and will be sentenced at a later date.
