Search For Missing Person On Boat Underway In Schuylkill River

UPPER MERION, PA — Authorities are searching for a missing person who was on a boat in the Schuylkill River near Upper Merion on Tuesday.

The search began in the mid-afternoon hours at the Upper Merion Boathouse, which is located off of Water Street in the Bridgeport area.

Serach and rescue crews were dispatched along the river in both directions.

"We are asking that motorists use caution in the area," Upper Merion police shared. "There are Search and Rescue Personnel from neighboring jurisdictions assisting, who may also be seen in the surrounding neighborhoods."
