A solar energy company celebrated the coming of a new facility in Norristown on Thursday, bringing significant job opportunity to the area with it.

SolarCity, one of the nation’s largest providers of solar energy, will open up a facility on 2562 Blvd of the Generals.

At a ceremony on Thursday, state and local officials were on hand to commemorate the opening.

Pennsylvania State Representative Mike Vereb, along with Montgomery County Commissioner Bruce Castor, were two of several dignitaries that attended the event.
