Shuttle Will Take Veterans To Horsham VA From Across Montco
Veterans services just got a whole lot better in Montgomery County.

A new shuttle service for veterans will transport them to the Veterains Administration facilities around Montgomery County, according to Josh Shapiro, chair of the county commissioners.
The free shuttle service will begin on July 20.
“This is a significant step in our efforts to make sure that our veterans receive the care they need and deserve,” Shapiro said.

The shuttle will leave from Souderton on Mondays and Ambler on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and head to the Horsham CBOC. It will return to its origin by no later than 3 p.m. each day.
Veterans must schedule their appointments between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the VA when using the shuttle service.

A re-purposed van formerly owned by Parkhouse will be used to transport up to eight ambulatory individuals and five wheelchairs.
The complete schedule is as follows:
Mondays: Generations of Indian Valley 259 N. 2nd Street, Souderton
Destination: Horsham Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
Tuesdays: Norristown Senior Adult Activities Center (SAAC) 536 George Street, Norristown
Destination: Coatesville VA Medical Center and Spring City CBOC
Thursdays: Pottstown Area Senior Center 288 Moser Road, Pottstown
Destination: Coatesville VA Medical Center and Spring City CBOC
Fridays: Ambler SAAC 45 Forest Avenue, Ambler
Destination: Horsham CBOC
The program is funded by a $12,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans Affairs, along with $25,500 in county Human Services block grant funds.
