'Significant Increase' In Thefts From Vehicles In Norristown Through October

Break-ins continued through the month of October in Norristown.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Norristown police have issued a community alert in the wake of a continuing spree of thefts from vehicles.

Police said that the break-ins continued unabashed through the month of October. No arrests have been made.

Two specific areas have been targeted, according to authorities:

  • The far west end of town. This area is mostly from Stanbridge St. to Forest Ave. and consists of the 500 Blocks to the 1000 Blocks.
  • The North, Center, part of town. This area is mostly from Fornance St. to Johnson Hwy.

According to police, 90 percent of vehicle break-ins are permitted because vehicles have been left unlocked.

Residents are urged to remember to lock their vehicles.
