Sixers suffer a 101-98 overtime playoff loss to Boston

Boston leads the series 3-0. No team in NBA history has ever won a seven-game playoff series after being down 0-3.

Philadelphia's Sixers are not done for the 2017-18 season. But they are close, after suffering a 101-98 overtime NBA Eastern Conference semifinal playoff loss to the Boston Celtics Saturday night.

Boston now leads the best-of-seven series three games to none. Game four is Monday night in Philadelphia. No NBA team has ever recoverd to win a best-of-seven playoff series after being down three games to none.

The Sixers are hoping to be the first.

Sixers' 7-footer Joel Embiid had 22 points and 19 rebounds Saturday night and five other Sixers were also in double figure scoring but it wasn't enough.

Boston was led Saturday night by forward Jayson Tatum who had 24 points. Three other Celtics were in double figures.

Philadelphia has not won an NBA title since 1983 when Hall-of-Famers Julius Erving and Moses Malone were playing. Boston last won an NBA title in 2008.
