Suicide Prevention Awareness Event Held In Montgomery County
In 2017 alone, 107 Montgomery County residents were lost to suicide, officials said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — In 2017 alone, 107 Montgomery County residents were lost to suicide.
That's an unacceptable and avoidable number, according to the message from a recent Suicide Prevention and Awareness event in the county.
“Suicide is preventable," said Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Commissioners. "When we know the signs, and come together to support one another we can connect those who are struggling with the help they need. With help, comes hope."

The event took place at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell and was live streamed to an audience on the Pottstown campus.
Among the speakers was Kevin Hines, one of just 36 people to survive a suicidal jump from the Golden Gate Bridge. Arkoosh, along with Patti Dille, a suicide loss survivor and Suicide Prevention Trainer, were among the other speakers.
