Suspect In Numerous Norristown Burglaries Captured: Police
Authorities said the man admitted to " wandering around Norristown checking houses for open doors."
NORRISTOWN, PA — A series of buglaries around the Norristown area led to an arrest after a police chase this week, police said on Friday.
Horatio Nimley, 46, faces numerous charges in connection with the cases.
The most recent incident occurred at around 4:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 along the 1700 block of Dekalb Street.

Police said a man they later identified as Nimley broke into a home through an unlocked door and then fled the scene when homeowners saw him.
When police arrived, they found that several other homes had been broken into along the same block that night. Video surveillance captured the incidents, and the clothing worn by the suspect in the videos matched clothing found in Nimley's backpack after he was captured, authorities said.

Police said Nimley admited "he would wander around Norristown checking houses for open doors." He has previously been convicted of burglarly in other cases.
His history with police also involves a civil rights action filed against two Norristown officers for unlawful force and other violations.
Police said the case remains open and under investigation, as other individuals could be involved with separate or related burglaries nearby.
Nimley was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
