Take Norristown SD's Survey On Adding SEPTA Stop In Front Of Schools

The district is hoping to bring back a SEPTA stop on Whitehall Road that was shut down years ago.

The Norrsitown Area School District is asking parents, students, and community members to take a few minutes to complete a survey regarding a SEPTA bus stop that would serve the school district.

The district uploaded a video on YouTube Tuesday afternoon that focuses on the district's lack of a bus stop.

Anne Rohricht, the district's CFO, says in the video a SEPTA stop used to be located on Whitehall Road in front of the high school, the district administration building, and in very close proximity to Whitehall Elementary School. Rohricht says in the video that SEPTA discontinued service to the area about 10 years ago.

"We've been working with them over the years to try to restore the stop," she says. "We have a strong belief that students need the stop, especially students who participate in after school activities and weekend activities. We also think it will help students get to school on time."

She goes on to say the goal of the survey – available here – is to determine whether or not the community feels a stop is needed.
