Township Line Road Bridge Reopens

Breaking: Great news for local motorists, as the Township Line Road bridge has officially reopened following repairs.

EAST NORRITON, PA — The Township Line Road bridge in East Norriton and Whitpain townships has officially reopened following repairs.

The bridge was originally closed on Sept. 4, the first day of school in the Norristown Area School District and other districts nearby, making traffic even more hectic than usual in the area.

The 85-year-old bridge had a deteroriated concrete deck and steel beams which needed replacing, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. The bridge's maximum weight had previously been reduced from 16 tons to three tons.
