UPDATE: Fiery East Norriton Police Standoff Ends In Arrest
A man barricaded himself inside his home for nearly nine hours, lighting random objects on fire and causing "extensive damage" to the home.

EAST NORRITON, PA -- An armed East Norriton man barricaded himself inside his home after a domestic disturbance, lighting items on fire and engaging in a prolonged standoff throughout the night before eventually surrendering, police said Monday.
East Norriton Police were first called to the scene just before 7 p.m. near the intersection of Michele Drive and Barbara Drive.
A resident, Christopher Puleo, 35, confronted police at the door when authorities approached, police said.

He then quickly retreated and barricaded himself inside.
During the hours that would follow, Puleo caused “extensive damage” to the home by lighting several items on fire, police said.

Eyewitnesses reported that they saw a man lighting a mattress on fire, and eventually retreating the roof, where he continued to strike matches and attempt to start more fires.
After several more hours of negotiations, police said that Puleo surrendered peacefully at 3:50 a.m.
Fire crews and EMS crews were on the scene through the night, but no injuries were reported, police said.
The extent of the damage to the home is unclear.
Puleo has been charged with a litany of offenses including terroristic threats, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and more.
