Upper Merion Elementary School Teacher Touched Student: Police
Police said the teacher put the young child in his lap.
UPPER MERION, PA — An Upper Merion elementary school teacher was arrested Tuesday after police said he inappropriately touched a young child in his class.
Zachary Schettone, 39, of King of Prussia, has been charged with indecent assault of a victim under 13, harassment, corruption of minors, and numerous related counts.
Authorities said the incident occurred in Oct. 2021, but the investigation began in Aug. 2025 when the victim came forward.

Schettone, a teacher at Gulph Elementary School on Henderson Road, had the young child sit on his lap, police said.
Upper Merion put Schettone on leave before the school year began, and he has not been in the school since the allegations were brought forth, school officials said.

A preliminary hearing has been set for April 6.
