Vigil Held For Victims Of Norristown Double Homicide: Report

The pair were best friends since childhood. One of the young men had a 9-year-old son.

Dozens of people gathered in a Norristown alley on Thursday night to commemorate the lives of two Norristown men shot and killed the night before, according to reports.

The group held candles and mourned the lives of the two young men who spent time growing up near the alley between West Airy Street an Marshall Street, according to the Times Herald.

Marcel Edwards and Quentin Watson Jr., the victims of Wednesday’s crime, spent much time in the area, known as the ”Bakk Blokk,” the report states.

“It was a very brutal and senseless crime,” Greg Scott, judge-elect of Norristown’s newest district court, and an acquaintance of Watson when they were students together at the Renaissance Academy, told the Times Herald. “There has to be a sense of urgency in our community for this sort of thing to change.”

Watson and Edwards had been best friends since childhood, the report states. Watson was also the father of a 9-year-old boy.
