WATCH: Gender Reveal Party Held for Elmwood Park Zoo Jaguar Cubs
What gender are the new jaguar cubs at Elmwood Park Zoo? The zoo held a special party Friday morning to reveal that to the public.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Elmwood Park Zoo held a gender reveal party for the two jaguar cubs born at the zoo late last month. The zoo's female jaguar, Inka, gave birth to the two cubs on January 24, according to zookeepers. The birth was a surprise, officials said.
One of the cubs is a boy and one of the cubs is a girl, the zoo revealed at the party.
The event included blue and pink tables complete with jaguar cub-themed cakes. As the cakes were cut into, the color of the interior frosting indicated the gender (blue for male, pink for female).

The pair has not yet been named, but will be in the near future.
The zoo's male jaguar, Zean, is the father. Zean and Inka met for the first time on October 12, 2016. Inka began to show aggression toward Zean on October 14, so the pair were separated.

"The chances for a successful conception were slim for a couple of "first-timers," which is why the birth came as somewhat of a surprise," zoo officials said.
Elmwood Park is currently working on a new exhibit that will house the jaguars. The "Trail of the Jaguar" is slated to open this spring.
