WATCH: Norristown HS Grad Advances To 'American Idol' Final 14

NORRISTOWN, PA — In case you haven't looked recently, 2010 Norristown Area High School graduate Dennis Lorenzo is in the midst of a meteoric rise.

The local performer has continued to advance in "American Idol" on ABC, and after another stellar performance Monday night, has claimed a spot among the final 14 competitors.

"Throughout the competition he has been consistently strong musically, has humbly taken all criticism, and received praise in a reserved way," the school district said in a statement admiring Lorenzo's accomplishments. "He speaks to his fellow contestants and the judges eloquently."

Lorenzo advanced after a performance of "Unaware" in a duet with Allen Stone. The song brought him down from the final 24 into the final 14.
