Water Rescue On Schuylkill River In Norristown Comes Up Empty

NORRISTOWN, PA — Heavy police and fire activity along the Schuylkill River in Norristown on Wednesday was due to a search for a suspected victim in the water, but authorities eventually determined that no one was in need of saving.

The water rescue occurred in the later afternoon hours.

"Water rescue and dive teams spent multiple hours searching," Norristown Professional Firefighters shared.

However, despite the initial reports of a victim needing rescuing, no one was discovered in distress

No injuries to crews were reported.

Multiple other departments assisted Norristown on the scene.
