North Allegheny School Board Outlines Rules for Public Hearing on Proposed School Closing

The hearing will be held at the Carson Middle School Auditorium.

The following information comes from a public hearing notice, posted on the North Allegheny School District web site.

The North Allegheny School District Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing on the question of whether or not to permanently close Peebles Elementary School, on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m., in the Carson Middle School Auditorium, 200 Hillvue Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15237-5391.

At that time, any interested member of the public may address the Board one time for a period not in excess of five minutes.

Members of the public may reserve the opportunity to speak by making a formal written request received by District Board Secretary, Rose Mary Ryan, no later than 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Members of the public not reserving a speaking time, shall be permitted to address the Board for a period of time not in excess of two minutes in the order of their appearance on a sign-up sheet, which shall be available at the time of the hearing.

Written comments regarding the proposed closing will be accepted, but must be submitted to and received by the School Board's Secretary at the District’s Administrative Offices located at 200 Hillvue Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, within 15 days following the Public Hearing.

The Board Secretary will deliver any such written comments to the Board. Written comments received within the established time period shall be made a part of the hearing record to the same extent as if they had been received before or during the Public Hearing.
