North Allegheny Tigers Defeat Wilson 45-10, Advance to State Championship Game

The Tigers face Coatesville next week for a chance at the their second state title in three years.

Just like last week, North Allegheny got off to a slow start against Wilson in the PIAA semi-final game Saturday at Mansion Park Stadium in Altoona, and just like last week the Tigers came roaring back to easily win the game by a score of 45-10.

Wilson scored its only touchdown when Jesse Poore returned an 85-yard kick return for a touchdown early in the first quarter.

North Allegheny quickly countered when Alex DiCiantis scored on a three-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Mack Leftwich added another touchdown, on a five-yard run, with about a minute to go in the first quarter. At that point, the Tigers never looked back.

Leftwich tossed one touchdown pass in the second quarter, and two more in the fourth quarter while Wilson was only able to muster a field goal.

The win gives the Tigers, three-time WPIAL Champs, the chance to win their second state championship in three years. North Allegheny will face Coatesville in Hershey next Saturday at 6 p.m. at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey.
