Stolen Vehicle, Road Rage Assault: Northampton Township Police Report

Detectives are investigating a stolen vehicle and a reported quad theft in the township. Police also filed charges in a road rage incident.

RICHBORO, PA — Northampton Township police reported a stolen vehicle, a reported quad theft and a road rage case that led to criminal charges during incidents logged between April 13 and 19.

According to the Northampton Township Police report, patrol responded April 14 to a residence in the Churchville section of the township for a reported motor vehicle theft. Police reported that, upon arrival, it was confirmed that a vehicle had been stolen. Information was gathered, according to the report, and the case has been assigned to detectives.

On April 16, patrol responded to a home in the Richboro section of the township for a reported theft. According to the report, police spoke with the property owner, who reported that an unknown individual had stolen a quad from the property. Information was gathered, and the case has been assigned to detectives.

The weekly log also includes two scam reports. On April 15, a resident reported receiving a phone call from an individual identifying themselves as an officer. According to the report, the caller stated that the resident’s child had been involved in an accident and struck another vehicle, and that money was needed to secure the child’s release. Police reported that the resident realized it was a scam.

On April 17, a resident reported receiving a phone call from an individual claiming to be a bank employee. The caller advised that there were fraudulent charges on the account and attempted to obtain information, according to the report. Police reported that the resident recognized this as a scam.

Police also logged a road rage incident on April 18 in the Ivyland section of the township. According to the report, patrol responded to the report of a road rage incident and spoke with the parties involved. The investigation determined that the incident escalated into a physical altercation, and criminal charges were filed.

Other incidents in the report include a traffic accident April 15 at Newtown-Richboro Road and Holland Road, where police reported that a vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal on Holland Road was struck from behind. A tow was required, according to police.

Police also logged suspicious vehicle calls April 13 off 2nd Street Pike and April 19 at Northampton Township Municipal Park off Hatboro Road. In both cases, police reported no issues or that everything appeared to be in order.

During the tour, patrol handled 18 alarm calls, 22 abandoned 911 calls, 40 medical emergencies, 9 bookings, 3 domestic disputes, 12 civil disputes, 71 traffic monitoring details, and 23 crime prevention details.
