RICHBORO, PA — Northampton Township will honor Gold Star families during this year's Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25, beginning at 9 a.m. at Robert H. Dembowski Veterans Memorial Park in Richboro.
The community is invited to attend as the township honors and remembers the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States.
Before the ceremony, a flag-raising ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. in front of the Northampton Township Building, 55 Township Road. The solemn and emotional observance serves as a powerful tribute to fallen veterans and will be conducted by the Northampton Township Police Department, the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment, and members of the community.
This year’s program is dedicated to recognizing and honoring Gold Star families — those who have lost a loved one in military service. The ceremony will feature Gold Star Mother Karen Kelly as the keynote speaker. Kelly will share her reflections on Memorial Day, offering a deep personal perspective on sacrifice, resilience, and remembrance.
“The sacrifices made by our service members and their families do not end, and it is our responsibility as a community to ensure they are never forgotten,” said Kristin Reilly, chairperson of the Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission. “This year, we are especially mindful of the strength and sacrifice of Gold Star families, and we are honored to recognize them in a meaningful way.”
Residents, veterans, families, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate in this important observance.
The event is hosted by the Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Commission and is open to the public.
