DUI Arrests, Stolen Vehicle, Road Rage Charges: Northampton Twp. Police Report

Police reported several arrests, fraud complaints, DUI charges, a vehicle theft and other calls in between May 4 and 17.

RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department responded to the following between May 4 and May 17, including DUI arrests, fraud complaints, a motor vehicle theft and a road rage case that led to assault-related charges.

The log shows patrol officers also responded to service calls across the township, including a vehicle lockout at Potters Place on May 4 and a hazardous condition on Green Valley Drive on May 5, where a large tree was blocking the roadway. According to police, the Northampton Township Public Works Department was contacted and removed the tree.

Property-related incidents were spread throughout the reporting period. On May 6, patrol responded to a home in the Richboro section for a theft from a vehicle. According to police, a resident reported that an unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and removed items.

On May 11, a resident reported unauthorized purchases on a credit card after being notified by their bank. On May 14, another resident told police their computer locked up with pop-up notifications indicating a fraud alert and directing them to call a phone number. Police said the resident was instructed to withdraw money and deposit it into a Bitcoin machine. The case was assigned to detectives.

Police also reported a stolen vehicle case on May 14 in the Churchville section of the township. According to the report, police spoke with the owner, who reported the vehicle had been stolen. The case was also assigned to detectives.

Several traffic-related incidents resulted in arrests.

On May 8, patrol initiated a traffic stop in the area of Old Jordan Road for a motor vehicle violation, and the driver was taken into custody on an active warrant, according to the report.

Police also reported DUI arrests following traffic stops on May 9 near 2nd Street Pike and Newtown-Richboro Road, on May 10 in the area of Middle Holland Road and on May 15 near West Bristol Road and Wordsworth Drive. In each case, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to the report.

Other calls included a traffic accident at Almshouse Road and Temperance Lane on May 7, a road rage incident on Bridgetown Pike on May 13 that led to one person being taken into custody on assault-related charges, and several animal-related calls.

Police reported a lost dog from Twining Ford Road was reunited with its owner on May 8, a found dog on Watergate Drive was taken to a local kennel before the owner was located on May 16, and an injured fawn reported in the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike on May 17 ended with patrol determining the animal did not appear to be injured.

Between May 4 and 17, police handled 38 alarm calls, 29 abandoned 911 calls, 73 medical calls, 21 bookings, 7 domestic disputes, 22 civil disputes, 147 traffic monitoring details and 26 crime prevention details.
