“Creepy Crawlers” To Invade Churchville Nature Center

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Insects, spiders, and crustaceans, oh yes.

Arthropalooza will bring all kinds of arthropods to the Churchville Nature Center this weekend for a two-day science-based learning experience on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Arthropalooza offers educational fun for all ages by providing outdoor stations, exhibits, demonstrations and tours that are designed for interactive, science-based learning, in Churchville Nature Center's gardens, patio, and Butterfly House.

Activities include a honeybee meet and greet, buggy crafts, cockroach races, tours of the Butterfly House, Cricket
Café, Pond Dip Netting, a scavenger hunt and more.

The event annually brings hundreds of people to the center, including families, scouts and homeschool groups from throughout Bucks County and the greater Philadelphia region.

The cost to attend Arthropalooza is $8 per person (children 3 and under are admitted free). Current members of the Friends of Churchville Nature Center also attend for free, but memberships must be up to date before August 1, as they cannot be purchased or renewed at the event.

The Arthropalooza is a "pay at the door" event and registration is not required.

"The Arthropalooza is an annual summer tradition for many families and groups," said Megan Keller, public events and summer camp coordinator for Churchville Nature Center. "We use discovery and hands-on science to provide memorable opportunities for folks to learn about arthropods."

Churchville Nature Center is an environmental education facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation.
