RICHBORO, PA —The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between August 3 and 16.
August 3
DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to the 1600 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Once on location, police observed a vehicle that had struck a tree. The driver was located and, through investigation, was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
August 4
Community - Officers held a National Night Out event at the Northampton Township Municipal Park.
August 5
Theft - Patrol responded to the Holland section of the township for the report of multiple thefts from vehicles and a vehicle theft. Information was gathered, and these cases were assigned to detectives.
August 6
Fire - Patrol responded to Industrial Drive for the report of a fire. Once on location, it was determined that a transformer for the business was on fire. The Northampton Township Fire Department, as well as PECO, responded to the scene to address the issue.
August 8
Theft - Patrol responded to the Holland section of the township for the report of a theft. The resident reported having video footage of an unknown individual taking packages from their home. Information was gathered, and the case was assigned to detectives.
August 10
Fire - Patrol responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike for the report of a building fire. The Northampton Township Fire Department responded to the scene, and the issue was determined to be coming from the HVAC system. The matter was turned over to the fire department.
August 11
Suspicious Vehicle - At 2:26 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Buck Road. Contact was made with the individual inside, who was identified. A check was conducted, and there were no issues or concerns. The individual left the area without incident.
Solicitor Complaint - Patrol responded to the area of Swan Lane for the report of a solicitor complaint. The area was checked, and the individual involved was located. It was determined that their permit had expired, and they left the area.
August 12
Retail Theft - Patrol responded to a business in the 1000 block of 2nd Street Pike for a reported retail theft. Upon arrival, the individual involved had left the area. Patrol gathered information and was able to identify the individual involved.
August 14
E-Bikes - Patrol stopped two e-bike riders on 2nd Street Pike. The riders were identified as juveniles, and their parents were notified.
August 16
E-Bikes - Police stopped an e-bike rider in the area of Council Rock South High School. The juvenile was identified, and a parent was contacted.
During the two weeks, patrols handled 31 alarm calls, 38 abandoned 911 calls, 55 medical emergencies, 16 bookings, 6 domestic disputes, 20 civil disputes, 97 traffic monitoring details, and 26 crime prevention details.
