Police in Northampton Township are investigating the passing of counterfeit money at a local restaurant.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA -- Police in Northampton Township are investigating the passing of counterfeit money at a local restaurant. According to police, someone passed a fake $20 bill on Sunday, April 30 just before 1 p.m.

The name of the restaurant where the incident was reported was not revealed by police but a person of interest has been identified, authorities said.

As a result, police are asking business owners to be aware of the potential for fraudulent currency.
