Free Narcan Training Event Next Week In Memory Of Local Overdose Victim

Police say the free Narcan training session is being held in memory of Nicholas Hampshire, a 2003 Council Rock graduate who died last April.

A free Narcan training and distribution event will be held next week in Richboro, in memory of a local resident who died last year from an overdose.

The event is planned for Tuesday, March 22 at the Northampton Township Library, 25 Upper Holland Road, Richboro. It has been organized by the family of Nicholas Hampshire, who passed away in April at the age of 30.

Northampton Township police say the Hampshire family helped to sponsor the training and kit distribution session because they want to get the word out that heroin overdoses are happening "everywhere," not just in the cities.

Tuesday's event starts at 7 p.m. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose, plus they'll get a free overdose kit.
