Trapped 83-Year-Old Woman Rescued From Home By Local Emergency Responders

The elderly woman was found on the floor with household items on top of her following a well-being check, police said.

Local emergency responders saved an 83-year-old woman who was found trapped on the floor of her Northampton Township home last week.

According to information from Northampton Township Police Department, officers responded to a request for a well-being check of the elderly woman on March 8. The woman, from the Holland section of the township, had not been heard from in several days.

Police determined that forced entry would need to be made into the home and the Northampton Fire Company was called to the scene.

"The door could not be opened due to items in the home. The Fire Company had to remove the door from its hinges," police said in a release.

The woman was found on the floor with household items on top of her, police said. She was transported by Newtown Ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Bucks County Area Agency for the Aging were called to assist the resident.
