Allegheny County Teacher Salaries: How Does North Hills Compare?

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Education recently updated its database to include teacher salary data for 2016-17. The average salary for a teacher in Pennsylvania in 2016-17 was $66,265, although teachers' paychecks vary greatly by district.

In 2016-17, teachers in the Lower Merion School District in Montgomery County received the highest average salary in Pennsylvania, earning $99,253 on average. Six Allegheny County districts ranked among the state’s Top 50 in salaries: Montour (15), Fox Chapel (21), Gateway (24), Quaker Valley (33) Plum (37) and North Allegheny (45).
